These terms cover use of this website. They are not our terms of business, which are set out in the engagement letter you would receive if you became a client.

These terms are a reasonable working draft written to match the content actually published. They should be reviewed by a solicitor before launch, particularly the liability wording, which must sit correctly alongside your professional indemnity cover and your professional body requirements.
Information, Not Advice
Everything on this website is general information about the financial side of veterinary practice in the United Kingdom. It is not advice for your circumstances and you should not act on it without taking advice that takes account of your own facts.
Reading this site, using a calculator on it or sending an enquiry does not create an accountant and client relationship. That relationship begins only when we have agreed a scope of work and issued an engagement letter which you have accepted.
Accuracy and Currency
Tax rates, thresholds, regulatory requirements and market conditions change. Pages dealing with those subjects carry a last reviewed date and list the sources relied on. We take reasonable care to keep them current, and we cannot guarantee that every page reflects the position on the day you read it.
Where a page describes a regulatory measure that is still subject to consultation or to draft orders, it says so. Do not treat those as settled requirements.
Tools and Calculators
The calculators on this site perform arithmetic on figures you enter. They do not know your circumstances, they do not access your records and their output is illustrative. They are not valuations, tax computations or advice, and the commentary they produce points at questions rather than answers.

We link to official sources such as GOV.UK, HMRC and sector bodies so you can check what we say. We are not responsible for the content of those sites, and a link is not an endorsement of any commercial organisation mentioned.
Intellectual Property
The content of this site belongs to us unless stated otherwise. You are welcome to read it, print it and quote from it with attribution. Reproducing substantial parts of it commercially without permission is not permitted.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, we do not accept liability for loss arising from reliance on general information published on this website where no engagement exists between us. Where we act for you under an engagement letter, the liability provisions of that letter apply instead.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting any right you have to bring proceedings in the country where you live.
