Accessibility Statement
We aim to meet WCAG 2.2 level AA. This sets out what we have done, what we know is not perfect and how to report anything we have missed.
- Last updated 3 August 2026
This statement reflects the accessibility work built into the site. Before launch it should be backed by a manual audit including a screen reader pass, and any findings added to the known limitations section rather than removed from it.
What We Have Done
- Semantic HTML with correct landmark regions and a single H1 per page
- A skip link to the main content on every page
- Visible focus outlines on every interactive element
- Full keyboard operation, including navigation, forms and all four calculators
- Form fields with associated labels, error messages linked with aria-describedby and errors identified in text as well as colour
- Text and interface colours checked against WCAG AA contrast ratios
- Form inputs at a minimum of 16 pixels so mobile browsers do not zoom and crop the page
- Frequently asked questions built from native disclosure elements, so they work without JavaScript
- Calculator results announced through a live region as they update
- Animation kept minimal and disabled entirely when the operating system requests reduced motion
- No information conveyed by colour alone
Known Limitations
- Manual testing is incomplete
- The site has been built to the standards above and checked structurally. A full manual audit with screen readers across browsers has not yet been carried out, and findings from one will be added here.
- Wide tables scroll horizontally
- Comparison tables scroll sideways on small screens rather than reflowing. The content is reachable by keyboard and screen reader, and the pattern is not ideal.
- Third-party content
- If an external booking tool is configured, its accessibility is determined by that provider rather than by us.
