About Us
We act for veterinary practices, practice owners and locum veterinary surgeons across the United Kingdom, handling the compliance work properly and spending the rest of our time on the questions that actually change what a practice earns and what it is worth.
What We Do
Veterinary practices are unusual businesses. They earn from clinical time and from dispensing at the same time, they carry significant stock, a large share of their income arrives from insurers rather than clients, and many now sell recurring health plans that are paid for a year ahead of the treatment they buy.
Handled by an accountant who sees that pattern regularly, the accounts become a management tool. Handled by one who does not, they become a filing exercise.
The second half of what we do is transactional. Practices get bought, sold, valued and passed on, and the financial preparation for that starts years before the transaction. We do valuations, acquisitions, disposals, partner buy-ins and succession planning, and we do them for independent practices dealing with well-advised corporate buyers.
Numbers That Explain Something
Every set of accounts we prepare is built so it can answer management questions, not only satisfy Companies House. If we produce a number you cannot use, we have not finished.
Fixed Fees, Agreed First
Scope and price in writing before anything starts. An hourly meter discourages the conversations that are most valuable, which is precisely the wrong incentive.
Straight Answers
Including when the answer is that you do not need the thing you were asking about, or that a piece of work would not pay for itself.
Nothing Published Without Evidence
No invented testimonials, no accreditation badges we cannot substantiate, no claimed savings without a client who agreed to them being published. Where we do not yet hold evidence, the page says so.
How an Engagement Starts
There is no sales process. A conversation, a look at your actual numbers, and a fixed price before anything begins.
A conversation
Half an hour on where the practice is and what is bothering you about it. No charge, no obligation.
We read your numbers
Your last two sets of accounts and a few practice management system reports. We come back with what they show and what they do not.
A written proposal
Scope, deliverables, timetable and a fixed fee. You decide with the whole picture in front of you.
We run the handover
Professional clearance from your existing accountant, records transfer and HMRC authorisation. It needs very little from you.
Reporting begins
On a fixed timetable with commentary, and a named person who answers when you get in touch.
